His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai approved a budget of Dh56.5 billion for 2018 which included a significant increase in infrastructure spending to finance work for Expo 2020.

Dubai’s budget for 2018 allocates 33% of total spending to the social development sector, including health, education, housing, community development, innovation. Security, justice and safety have been assured, with these areas receiving 16% of the total expenditure for 2018.

Job Creation

Dubai’s budget for 2018 aims to provide more than 3,100 new jobs, reflecting the government’s keenness to create further job opportunities.


Revenue will increase 12.5 per cent to Dh50.36bn from Dh44.78bn in 2017.
