The world’s population lives in cities

According to the UN’s World Urbanization Prospects Report, 54% of the world’s population currently lives in cities. This proportion is expected to increase to 66% by 2050. This would mean that by 2050 there would be nearly 2.5 billion more people living in cities than today.
